The annual Festival is FREE and visitors have the chance to see highly talented sculptors from the UK, USA, France, Hungary, Bulgaria, Spain, Sweden, Netherlands, Latvia, Belgium and Portugal as they compete to be crowned the 2013 Champions. One of the world’s premier business, leisure and shopping districts, Canary Wharf is hosting one of London’s favourite winter events for the fourth year running.

In 2013 London Ice Sculpting Festival will feature spectacular entertainment over three days, with the main action taking place in Wood Wharf and new, exciting attractions throughout Canary Wharf. There will be the ever popular ice carving Masterclasses, the fun, snow-filled Snowpit, an interactive Ice Graffiti Wall, Ice Chess, Winter Market and loads of not to be missed highlights including a special Northern Lights Laser Show!

DOUBLES COMPETITION - THE WONDERS OF THE UNIVERSE

This year’s theme calls on team’s of the world’s most talented ice artists to create the Wonders Of The Universe out of a gleaming 2-metre block of ice in the Doubles Competition. The winners will be decided by a judging panel but, in addition, there will be the new Sculptors’ Prize - the sculptors themselves will decide which Doubles Competition interpretation they consider to be the best. Carving against the clock from 11.00 - 19.00 on Friday 11 January in Wood Wharf, and continuing on Saturday 12 January from 10.00 - 12.00, the teams’ creations will be truly mesmerising!

SINGLES COMPETITION - INFINITY

In the Singles Competition each team will step up to a single 1-metre block of ice in Wood Wharf to work their magic in just a two-and-half-hour window. On Saturday 12 January from 13.00 - 15.30, catch the world-class sculptors carving against the clock to the theme Infinity to create something infinitely stunning.

FREESTYLE COMPETITION

The final competition, new for 2013, will see every individual sculptor carve and create wonderful designs with no theme at all, totally freestyle, open to interpretation and judged by the public! From 11.00 - 15.00 on Sunday 13 January in Wood Wharf. Don’t miss the chance to vote for your favourite finished piece in the Public Choice award, as well as seeing the winner crowned shortly afterwards.

WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENTS & PRIZE-GIVING

Doubles and Singles Competitions will be judged by an expert panel. Sculptors’ Prize for the Doubles Competition will be decided by the sculptors. All winners and prizes concerning these two competitions will be announced on Saturday 12 January from 4pm.

The Public Choice award winner in the Freestyle Competition will be presented on Sunday 13 January 4pm, before the Festival culminates in a stunning laser show on Wood Wharf.
